What type of design is this originating from? The Tymphany/Peerless had a similar design with the slugs acting as both the pole and flux? Perhaps this design is used on smaller drivers where there is a desire to keep the motor structure smaller than the basket? If they had used a traditional design the weight of the motor would have been outrageous. Very intriguing for sure, and efficient for what it is. Be nice to see the developer write-up or white paper about the benefits and draw backs to this design.
