Cerwin-Vega New 2014 Subwoofers ! 60th Anniversary !

Cerwin-Vega Mobile is introducing over 100 products at CES this week in honor of its 60th anniversary.

The company is showing limited edition anniversary Stroker Pro Series amplifiers, subwoofers and speakers (with over-sized motor structure) designed to handle extreme high power.

The new Stroker Pro Subwoofer is a monster ! They did a lot of testing on the driver to make sure it was up to the challenge . it was tested for 24 hours straight with 2000rms doing tone sweeps without a hiccup . they wanted a drive that could play long and loud !  the driver has a Black Coil coating that allows it to cool much faster and play longer even under stressful abuse in a SPL car.

Also for other new products are the new VEGA full range digital amplifiers and Stealth Bomber mini amplifiers that use Class D IR chipset technology and that work with any smartphone or tablet.

New VEGA Pro subwoofers have double stacked motor structures and installer-friendly horizontal mounted terminal with impedance selector.

New VEGA Pro shallow mount subwoofers have a unique encapsulated motor heat sink to dissipate heat.

Dual Electronics Corporation announced today the launch of a 21 SKU lineup of in-vehicle amplifiers, subwoofers and accessories. The 14-model strong amplifier assortment is the largest yet for Dual, and includes the company’s first 5-channel Digital Compact Amplifier, as well as two digital, low-profile models measuring only 1.5” high x 3” deep x 5.9” wide – the smallest footprint ever introduced by Dual. The new subwoofer lineup consists of 10” and 12” models, each available in single and dual voice coil configurations. All products will ship in February 2014, and all will be on display during the 2014 International CES in Booth 709 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“We are excited to introduce our largest ever lineup of high-quality amplifiers,” said Jim Braun, President and CEO, Dual Electronics Corp. “We put a great deal of engineering and quality control into the design and the production of these amps, and we are confident that they will deliver the highest level of performance and reliability,”

The new amplifiers are available in the Performance Series, which includes class AB models, Digital Compact Series, and Ultra Slim Digital, featuring the smallest footprint models.

• Outstanding efficiency: 80% at 1/2 rated power for the whole amplifier, including its power supply, which translates to approximately 60% less current draw than a typical class A/B or D car amplifier of equal power.
• Ultra wide frequency bandwidth for superior sound quality and high dampening factor for lower distortion.
• Automatic turn-on when voltage is detected on the speaker-level inputs, which makes the amplifiers ideal for easy factory system upgrades.
• P.W.M. Power supply for greater stability under heavy loads
• Sharp -24db/octave slope allows only the desired low-end frequencies to play through a subwoofer.
• Heavy-duty Aluminum chassis have 20-30% more mass than conventional amplifiers for extended playtime and durability under high temperatures.

• 4 layers of 2″ copper voice coil with aluminum former, which extract and dissipate any heat build-up, resulting in improved power handling.
• Large extended excursion stitched rubber surround, which increases surface area for greater volume displacement and increased SPL.

Rockford Fosgate 2014 Prototype Subwoofers

CES 2014 Rockford Fosgate Prototype Subwoofers ! is Rockford making a comeback ? only time will tell but these prototypes do look interesting ! a neo 19'' Subwoofer and large triple stacked magnet 4'' coil subwoofer . they decided to only do a SVC option . my guess is they pre wired the coil is series so your always getting the most out of ur sub . most subwoofers when wired in series have a much high BL and the TS specs will differ from wiring in parallel . i personally like the large gap between the dual landing spiders for cone control and coil rock . the prototypes seem to have a carbon fiber style cone that looks nice . here are some pics , what do you think of the drivers ?
